 Leann M. Gouveia, MPA Executive Director Congratulations to our executive director. Leann was selected as an honoree of the   “Women Inspiring Girls Award”by the Girl Scouts of Central California South. This award is given to three dynamic women who have distinguished themselves in the community, in their professions, and as role models for girls. Congratulations Leann!

Happy 2012!

This year brings many changes and updates at Fresno SOSL.   January brought a continued and newly committed board of directors.  Our 2012 board members are:  Judy Wathen-Farris, Kimberly Bird, Linda Ginise, Marilyn Dunlap, Donna Nunes-Croteau, Joe Martinez, Brian Rogers, David Margolin, Crystal Soto, Haley Rogers, Doreen Silva-Gutierrez, Nicole Ozburn, Judy Cottom and Den Stubblefield.  We appreciate their leadership.

In February, we celebrated our 2nd Annual Moms-2-Moms gathering.  Nearly 40 mom survivors came together in a luncheon event to celebrate life!  The program included a special speaker, Kathy Cromwell, LCSW, of Hinds Hospice.  It was wonderful to see the moms interacting and making new life-long friends and celebrating and sharing the lives of their children.

In March we held our 2nd Annual Live Auction Fundraiser.  With the help of Fresno Auction Company, and staff (www.fresnoauctioncompany.com), this fundraiser generated over $6,000.  We will continue to hold this event annually.  Please contact us if you have items to contribute throughout the year. 

March also brought Fresno SOSL a new staff member.  Ashley Perry, a CSUF student, is our new Resource Specialist.  Please email Ashley and say hello.  Her email address is:  Ashley@fresnosos.org.  See “our staff” for more details.
