2. Call us to schedule a pick up (some restrictions).  Pick up date is 3/19/11.

3. Drop off your stuff at Fresno Auction Company (located at 853 R St., Fresno).  We recommend you call first (559.497.5549) and be sure to mention that the items should be held for Fresno SOSL.

4. Join us at the public auction on Thursday, March 31st 2011 for some fun and while you're there --bid on others’ items!

2011 Sober Graduation Project

posted Jan 11, 2011 10:35 AM by Melissa Watkins

Fresno Survivors of Suicide Loss is proud to recognize ROTARY CLUB OF FRESNO for their contribution of$2,000.00 AND FIG GARDEN ROTARY CLUB for their contribution of $2,000.00 toward our Youth Suicide Prevention and Depression Awareness efforts. These grants will be used to support our Annual Sober Graduation Project.

Each year Fresno SOS reaches out to graduating seniors in celebrating their accomplishments and reminding them that "It's OK to Ask for Help."  Fresno SOS recognizes that the transition between high school and life after high school can be a difficult one for young people to face.  These small "goodie bags/bottles" equip students with resources for help, steps to take if someone they know is in a crisis situation, and contact information for Fresno SOS and our services.  One of the many goals of this project is to get our Yellow Ribbon Card (see below) into the hands of as many students as possible to provide them with the tools necessary to help themselves or someone else in a crisis situation.

Fresno SOS hopes to distribute 3,000+ at 15 high schools for our upcoming, 2011 graduating seniors.

We look forward to yet another successful project for the Class of 2011!

SaveMart S.H.A.R.E.S.

S.H.A.R.E.S. is a program developed by SaveMart and dedicated to Supporting Humanities, Arts, Recreation, Education, & Sports in our community.

As many of you know, Fresno SOS has taken part in the S.H.A.R.E.S. program over the course of the past year.  For those of you who are not familiar with the program, here's what you do....

STEP #1:
Call, e-mail, or visit our office to receive your very own
S.H.A.R.E.S. card (pictured to the left).  These cards contain no personal information of yours --only information which assigns proceeds to go to Fresno SOS.
STEP #2: Visit your local SaveMart or Food Max shopping center and... Go grocery shopping!  Shop til' you DROP... And when you arrive at the cash register, simply show your S.H.A.R.E.S card to the cashier before your food items have been scanned.
STEP #3: By doing steps 1 & 2, you have just donated 3% of your purchase to Fresno Survivors of Suicide Loss!  --It's that easy!

This program has been a simple and effective way for us to raise funds to support our operating budget, projects, and services to the community.  Since we began taking part in this program, we have raised over $2,800!

Help us by getting your S.H.A.R.E.S. card today!

"A Dollar a Day in the Month of May" Campaign

posted Apr 5, 2010 2:08 PM by Melissa Watkins   [ updated Apr 18, 2010 1:07 PM ]

In honor of our 25th Anniversary, Fresno Survivors of Suicide Loss is launching our
"Dollar a Day in the Month of May" campaign!

It is our hope that each of our supporters will consider helping us with this campaign by contributing $31.00, representing each day in the month of May.  Keep in mind --your donation of $31.00 can pay for the cost of one educational presentation, a scholarship for one of our upcoming events (Run/Walk or 25th Anniversary Luncheon), contribute to the continuation of our newsletter, support services, youth suicide prevention projects, educational materials, and so much more.

Our goal is to collect ONE HUNDRED $31.00 donations!  Imagine the things we can do...

For more information contact Melissa Watkins by e-mail or phone (559.322.5877).
